Terms & Conditions

Welcome to Need A Man & Van ("we", "our", "us"). By booking our services, you ("the customer") agree to the following Terms & Conditions.

1. Booking

  • Bookings may be made by telephone, email, online, or via our website.
  • Quotes are based on the information you provide, including collection and delivery addresses, item descriptions, access details, and estimated loading time.
  • Any changes to the booking may affect the final price.
  • A booking is only confirmed once we have acknowledged and accepted it.

2. Quotations

  • All quotations are provided in good faith based on the information supplied.
  • If additional items, extra labour, waiting time, poor access, or other unforeseen circumstances arise, additional charges may apply.
  • Quotes are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated.

3. Payment

  • Payment is due immediately upon completion of the job unless otherwise agreed in writing.
  • We accept cash, bank transfer, and approved card payments.
  • Outstanding balances may incur interest and recovery costs where permitted by law.

4. Cancellations

  • Cancellations made more than 24 hours before the scheduled booking are free of charge.
  • Cancellations within 24 hours may be subject to a cancellation fee.
  • Failure to be present at the agreed collection address without prior notice may result in the full booking charge.

5. Customer Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Ensure all items are packed securely unless a packing service has been arranged.
  • Inform us of any particularly heavy, valuable, fragile or unusual items before the booking.
  • Ensure access is available at both collection and delivery addresses.
  • Obtain any required parking permits or permissions where necessary.
  • Ensure someone aged 18 or over is present during collection and delivery.

6. Items We Will Not Transport

We reserve the right to refuse transportation of:

  • Illegal goods.
  • Firearms or ammunition.
  • Hazardous or flammable materials.
  • Explosives.
  • Live animals.
  • Perishable goods unless previously agreed.
  • Cash, jewellery, precious metals or high-value collectibles unless agreed in writing.

7. Loading and Unloading

Where customers assist with loading or unloading, they do so at their own risk.

We reserve the right to refuse to move any item that we believe could cause injury or damage.

8. Delays

Whilst every effort is made to arrive on time, we cannot guarantee exact arrival times due to traffic, accidents, weather, road closures or other circumstances beyond our control.

We will keep customers informed of any significant delays where possible.

9. Damage and Liability

We exercise reasonable care when handling your belongings.

However, we are not responsible for:

  • Damage caused by inadequate packing by the customer.
  • Damage to items with existing defects.
  • Mechanical or electrical faults unless caused directly by our negligence.
  • Loss or damage resulting from circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Any damage or loss must be reported before our team leaves the delivery address or within 24 hours in writing.

Our liability is limited to the value of the service provided unless otherwise required by law or where additional insurance has been arranged.

10. Insurance

Our vehicles carry appropriate motor insurance.

Customers should arrange separate goods-in-transit or specialist insurance if they require cover for the full value of their possessions.

11. Waiting Time

Where delays occur due to customer circumstances, waiting time may be charged at our current hourly rate.

12. Access Restrictions

If access is significantly different from that described at the time of booking (for example, multiple flights of stairs, long carrying distances, or restricted parking), additional charges may apply.

13. Force Majeure

We shall not be liable for delays or failure to perform our services due to events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to severe weather, flooding, industrial action, road closures, accidents, government restrictions or mechanical breakdowns.

14. Complaints

If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of our service, please contact us within seven days.

We aim to resolve complaints fairly and promptly.

15. Privacy

We only collect personal information necessary to provide our services.

Your information will be processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable UK data protection legislation.

16. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
